Keeping up with the brothers

Carter and Cannon both got their first teeth right at 4 months and it looks like Knox is getting his first tooth right at 17 weeks!

For some reason, Carter, who just lost his 3rd tooth recently, had his hand in Knox's mouth and felt the tooth coming through. He is very proud to be the one who made the discovery!

Baby animals

Yesterday it was a baby gorilla, today it is a baby turtle. Cannon has been carrying around imaginary baby animals in the palm of his hand.

Sometimes they go in his pocket or they sleep in a tiny lunchbox with a toy he picks out just for them. :)

2012 Baseball

Carter had a great season!  He showed a great deal of improvement from last year.  His next to last game he made a double play catching a fly ball and throwing a player out at second.  With only 4 players showing up to play, they all played hard and got lots of time to practice.  Singles, doubles, Carter hit every ball pitched to him!

Today was his last game.  He made several great fielding plays with one of his best buddies, Colin.

He had several solid hits including an in-park home run!

Best of all, he had FUN!

Squash

At the Agape House, where Carter takes piano and Carter takes a music class, they have a community garden. Upon leaving today, sweet Grace gave a squash to each of the kids. Cannon kept asking what we do with the squash. Unsatisfied with my answers which were various ways of saying, "We eat them," he insisted that we would plant them.

"But they have already been planted. They sprung up from seeds, received water and sunshine, flowered, grew, were picked, and are now ready to eat."

"Mom, I want to take it apart.".

" We can cook it for lunch tomorrow," I suggested.

"Mom, I'm going to need a kid knife when we get home."

So we got home, and I gave up on having him see my point of the complete life cycle of food and gave him a plastic kid knife.

He chopped it every which way possible.

He separated out the seeds and carefully put them on a napkin.

"Mom, look we can plant these and water them!"

What do I know!?
